About Anthony Clavien Phoenix, Arizona

Anthony Clavien was born in Pheonix, Arizona. He lived most of his life in rural
Arizona before moving into an artist’s loft in

downtown Pheonix, AZ after graduating from art school in 2018. He is a gradu-
ate of the Arizona School for the Arts in Phoenix, AZ and received a Masters of

Fine Arts (MFA) from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. He taught art open
studio classes for 5 years and hosted art parties for 2 years at Art for Fun! Studio
in Phoenix, Arizona, and held the title of a distinguished creative teacher, the
first-ever bestowed by the studio on a teacher of art. He taught classes in art at
the Phoenix Center for the Arts in Arizona. Clavien was twice named State Artist
of Arizona by the state's legislature. His self portrait mediums include paintings
and photographs which can be found in museums and collections around the
world. Clavien is also a well-known darkroom tech specializing in creative photo
montages as well as superior restorations of historic Phoenix, AZ images. He is
a veteran of the Navy and served during the The Gulf War.
